You don't own a piano? If you don't have access to a piano or electronic keyboard, you'll need to buy one. There are many good inexpensive options available, if you buy a keyboard, make sure it has a full hammer action, this is vital. The Roland FP - 10 is an excellent beginners keyboard, I bought and FP-10 recently when I was travelling, I was very impressed, it's a full hammer action entry level keyboard, great value. I'm not sponsored by anyone, I've just used this piano so I can speak for it.
My other keyboard, the more expensive Kawai VPC1 has a grand action feel. If you can afford to spend more money on a quality keyboard, I highly recommend you jump right in, you're going to save more money in the long run if you continue on your piano journey. Many high end electric piano's now days are excellent.
Make a commitment in time today. You need to set aside a realist period of time, I recommend once or twice a week to start, half hour session. You want the lessons to be something your child looks forward to, time you spend together. Let your child ask for more time and increase the lesson to twice a week. As a parent, spend time practicing, your child will see you practice which will encourge him/her to practice as well.
